The Village of Crillon Is an ancient Roman Fortress outside of Courthezon In the Rhone Valley. The vineyards are located on the side of a little stream, that eventually flows into the Rhone River. Most producers in this area usually use 3 grapes for their cepage. But Patricia Saurel the winemaker at Pont de Crillon has a point of difference. Her family has been growing only Syrah for decades, and her CDR is 100% Syrah. Silky in the mouth, with good pepper and spice. Finishes round and elegant.
