This wine has recently received the recognition it deserves. If you see it in a store buy it while you can. The winery only makes about 2,500 cases of this single vineyard stand out in good vintages. The 2009 was outstanding, will age extremely well, and is a great value. It was included in the Top 100 Wines of 2010 by the Wine Spectator and now it sells out each vintage soon after release. The 2011 is the current release and this vintage does not disappoint. Quality is top notch and you will not want to miss this wine! This vineyard site off the Saar River, has a cooler climate and gray slate soils. These are the factors that give this wine the tell tale lively acidity and smoky notes. This is a Grand Cru vineyard site!
The 2011 also received a 90 point review from The Wine Spectator and is nearly sold out.
