Nestled in the northeast region of France, Alsace is one of the driest areas for viticulture in all of France. Grapes here are traditionally trellised very high.
The wines of Paul and Phillpe Zinck are a relatively new addition to the HB Wine Merchants portfolio. Located in Eguisheim, this third generation grape growing family now save the best grapes for their own wine production. The father and son duo have found, in essence, a balance in winemaking, between traditional craftmanship and the contributions of new techniques. We import the following varietal wines in the portrait series: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Riesling. We also import one of the grand cru Rieslings- the Pfersigberg.
Philippe is now using Organic growing methods in 100% of his vinyards and this Pinot Blanc is a wonderful example of how good this varietal can get. It is clean and crisp with citrus and apple notes, defined by grace, elegance and easy drinking. It is a wine that is sure to please and complement a wide range of foods and occasions!
