Chateau Saransot-Dupre

Chateau Saransot-Dupre, HB Wine Merchants, Wholesale Producer, Importer, and Marketer of Fine Wines, NY, NJ, PA

This Listrac estate has a wonderful history dating back to 1735. The vineyards were then part of cru Hosten and sold to a young winemaker from Listrac named Dupre and so began the estate. In 1868 the buildings were refurbished and the property joined with the Saransot estate. It was later sold to the Raymond family in 1875 and this family still owns the estate today. Under the watchful eyes of Yves Raymond, a university trained enologist, some of the thoughts and ideas of his ancestors are still used today, especially when it comes to the cepage.

Ferraton Père & Fils

The Ferraton Père & Fils estate in Tain l’Hermitage was founded in 1946. The Mistral wind makes the Northern Rhône valley cooler than the Southern Rhône and it is reflected in the characteristics of the wine. In 1998, the vineyards began to use biodynamic farming principles in an effort to allow the personality of the terroir to be expressed. In 2004 Michel Chapoutier bought the estate and runs it with some prime vineyard holding in the Northern Rhone as well as negociant releases. In 2013 the entire vinification facility and cellars were updated with state-of-the-art equipment and fermentation tanks sized to their vineyard parcels.

Michel Forget launched Champagne Forget-Brimont in 1978. Champagne Forget-Brimont is located in Ludes, a classified Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. M. Chapoutier

M. Chapoutier, HB Wine Merchants, Wholesale Producer, Importer, and Marketer of Fine Wines, NY, NJ, PA

Michel Chapoutier has built a world wide reputation in the Rhone but his vineyard and winery holdings are not confined to that area. He also has a great estate further south in the jewel of the Languedoc known as the Cote du Roussillon. Here, at Domaine de Bila Haut, old vines of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan are carefully cultivated using sustainable and biodynamic growing methods. In the hills of the Agly Valley, the Cote du Roussillon Villages area make truly unique and superb red blends.
At lower elevations, a unique blended white wine is also produced. Here Macabeo, Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris are carefully grown and vinified to produce an elegant, crisp, and mineral laden wine with lingering notes of citrus, melon and saline flavors.

Z'IVO Wines Oregon

Z\

The Z’ivo Winery is owned and operated by John Zelko and his wife Katherine. They settled in Oregon in 1983 and quickly took an interest in grape growing and winemaking as a hobby. While helping others tend vines and harvest grapes, it was immediately evident that in order to make good wines, you needed to have good grapes. Twenty-five years ago, we started tasting and understanding Pinot Noir in the Willamette valley. Our preferences gravitated to the wines from the Eola Hills, a 16 mile North-South set of low rolling hills starting in Salem and ending up near Amity. The shallow mix of sedimentary and volcanic soils warm the earth and push the fruit flavors past red raspberry and red cherry into black cherry, blackberry and even blue plum accompanied with layers of spice, mushroom and earth.
